Hyderabad is the capital city of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Hyderabad metropolitan area is the sixth largest metropolitan area in India . World class International Airport at Shamshabad

There has been an unprecedented increase in the number of passengers leading to increased air traffic. The Begumpet Airport was unable to cope with the situation and was shut down on 22 March 2008. The new Hyderabad International Airport has been opened with state-of-the-art facilities at Shamshabad. It started commercial operations on 23 March 2008. The airport has the longest runway in South Asia and caters to the high passenger and cargo transits. The longest express flyover in the country is being constructed from Mehdipatnam to Aramgarh for providing dedicated high speed travel to the airport. Hyderabad has a combination of light rail transportation system known as the MultiModal Transport System (MMTS) and suburban railway system which offer connectivity between rail and road transport for the facility of the commuters.
